Daytona bars, cable replacement

I've got daytona bars for the L. I want to swap cables with an 80 1100S (thanks to search function I found these will swap great) But, my problem is, I can't seem to find the cables in the parts fische at my local dealer.

Does anyone have the part numbers? Or where there are on a fishce?

and can I replace the brake hoses with ones of the S also?

wait, I found the part numbers! as soon as I posted this. They're under "handlebar front fender"

throttle cable is 12, 58300-47060
choke is 14, 58400-45110
Clutch is 7, 58200-49011

Those are for the 1980 1100S model that Nessism has said will work on L models with the daytona bars.

can anyone verify that for me please?

Part numbers for the '82 550M

Throttle, 58300-47701

Clutch, 58200-47700

Choke, 58410-47701

The parts for the '82 550m are cheaper than the '80 1100S.


From what I gather from my search of the archives, the cables from both these models will fit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm just trying to record this for posterity.

You want 1000S clutch, not 550M since it hooks up different. The 1000S throttle cable seems to be unavailable so use the 550M version for that. The 1000S choke cable is in the steering stem so that is not appropriate for your bike, I'd try the 550M part for that one too (although I've never tried it).

I'm considering this move for my GL. Does anyone know how the GS650GT or GS650G are referenced in their full model numbers related to year? I know that my bike is a GS650GLZ.

When using

as a reference, are basically any of the models without a GL just plain G's?

I hope that makes sense.

On a related note, the GL seems like kind of a 'laid back' bike. I wonder what the effects of have that seat in combination with a forward set of bars would be? I've read discussions in the forum on this particular model, but I didn't see any real world reports.

If I could only find this mysteriously mentioned thread about the differences between the GL and G models maybe I could make an educated assessment.
