    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well since you guys won't let this drop. My problem is with those that think guns are the solution. 3 cops were recently mowed down by someone with similar thoughts.

If you think guns are to protect you from government - you are wrong. That's what VOTING is for.

I have nothing against guns, I do however take exception to the deviant thought process that they somehow protect us from our government and they can/should be used to overthrow it.

Now I'm finished. Move this to the appropriate forum. You can bash me all you want in there as I won't ever see it.

Yea Kris, kinda gets tiring ; I still have lots to learn so I mostly tolerate it.

Just a little forethought, tolerance and thoughtfulness would eliminate 80% of this "clutter" (note choice of words).

I generally try to ignore most of it unless someone is balls-ing up thread I started.

Applogies if I play with the pigs (less than PC choice of words; see the diff) sometimes.

what reason kris? the venomous replies or the endless beating of the proverbial dead animal?

As in you question about degreeing cams, I dragrace a lot and found out a long time ago that properly degreed cams will cut your times down from .2 to .4 tenths on the track. So this means if I am doing a 9.70 in the 1/4 mile you will be doing 9.50 to 9.30  with little $$$$ spent. 110 degrees I have found is optimum for power.

at what RPM range?

some of us tend to street our bikes more and could use a mid range grunt more than 7k+ if yours is high end.

Did you notice a difference in mileage also?

Sorry! Didn't mean to hijack!

I didn't think about what forum I was in; I know better. Sorry, and BTW I REALLY DON'T want to overthrow anything!

For a street bike you will find more usable power with the cams around 104-106 on the intake & 106-108 on the exhaust. Advancing the cams in this manner will produce more bottom end & midrange, as in where a street bike spends most of it's life. It is extremely IMPORTANT to check piston to valve clearance no matter where you put the cams! Ray.

come on now ray... Where's the answer to the mileage part?!?!!?

WAIT nevermind, you wouldn't know anything about that since you only run your bikes 1/4 mile at a time!! LMAO jk I couldn't resist!

I just ran 36mpg Highway with 50mph wind gusts going to Venture.
I'm at 110 and 110.
