Over the years I just used a piece of cardboard with holes punched in it for the valves, and valve number scrawled on the cardboard with a marker pen.
Of course, back then nobody had anything so posh as a pre-made, commercially-available valve keeper, so we made our own, and cardboard did the job; some of the posher types might have drilled holes in a bit of wood.
That was then, and this is now. I was gobsmacked at the prices being asked for pre-made units, so I made my own, but a lttle bit more sophisticated than cardboard - some scrap timber and a few pill bottles. :idea:
