DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

In my owners manual for the gs 1000L it says I have a 4.5 gallon tank, and the clymers manual says it could even be over 5 gallons.I am on E after about 120 miles and it gets 35 miles per gallon.I am not rally empty, the gauge says I am.But the most I have ever put in it when the tank was off, sitting on the ground and completely empty is a little over 3 gallons. What size is the tank then,or did i just answer my own stupid question? I dont see why the manual says 4.3 if it is 3.3.I have to fill up a lot.I also see where here guys say they get 45 mpg.I have pod filters and dynojet stage 1 kit in it.The plugs look perfect.Stock exhaust.

Ron, I see no reason to doubt your owner's manual.

My wife's 850L claims a 4.5 gallon tank, and your tank would not be any smaller than that.

One of these days I am going to empty the tank and take it down to the gas station in the van to fill it up and see what it does hold. Then we'll have to run it to reserve, note the mileage, and run it to empty.
Yeah, I'll have an extra gallon along in the saddlebag or trunk. 8-[

Thanks Steve.I think I panic when I see the E.I ride on beautiful deserted country roads and if i run out of gas i will be screwed.I bet when I thought I used about 3.5 I was wrong.

I can run 50 miles after I hit E. I consider that my reserve since I don't have one. POS 80s petcock.
