A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I bought these pods filters for my suzuki off this ebay seller, they are the worst clamp on filters ive ever incountered, the middle 2 filters if tighten to much poped right off,if only snug tightened they fell off just by plucking them, the 2 outside filters woudlnt even fit on between the carbs and the frame.

I did get my money back minus the 5.50 it cost me to ship them back but buyer beware on these cheap clamp on filters .

georgefix is generally considered to be one of the best sources for motorcycle parts on eBay. His prices are good and the freight is reasonable. He has many satisfied customers on these forums including myself. Yours is the first complaint I have heard. He refunded your money, which is about all you can expect when dissatisfied with a product.

Ditto that, the guy comes very highly recommended by me and it sounds like your problem is that you simply have the wrong filters for your bike/carbs? Plus, if they were not K&N or V&H pod filters I would recommend against buying them anyway, right fit or not. Just info, sorry to hear the deal didn't work out for you.

Like Hoomgar said, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't get anything other than K&N for pod filters, best C-note you will ever spend in pods...

I've bought stuff from georgefix too (Petcock was great, valve cover gasket a little flimsy in my mind) but I don't think he's complaining about the seller, just the product. :)

The auction states pretty clearly that they are Emgo filters....perhaps you were expecting K&N quality (not saying that Emgo is crap...a lot of folks have used them with decent results). I too picked up a set of pods from this seller, but have yet to use them...they looked ok though.

Tony.

Im not complaining about the seller,im not even complaining about the product just letting others know so they dont make the same mistake as i did.

as far as expecting them to be as good as k&N filters no i didnt expect that but i didnt expect they would fall right off the carbs from a simple finger pluck either,id bet my bike u couldnt go a mile down the road without them falling off the carbs, thats all i was stating just a warning for others looking at these pod filters off ebay.

also ive used generic pod filters from ebay in the past on other bikes mainly dirtbikes and trikes and never had a problem.

You should change the subject line then, it clearly indicates you are complaining about the seller - "Ebay seller georgefix suzuki gs pod filters BEWARE".
