    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Good luck! Im sure it will come out fine.Just take your time and enjoy what your doing.It will make it all worth while when you can finally hit that start button and she fires right up and idles perfect!!
 
impact worked wonders once i figured out how to use it lol. well wish me luck, i will let you guys know how it goes or if i have any further probs. at least i got the rails off been trying for a week. by the way they are cv carbs right?
 
Dont know for sure.If they look like a mushroom they are!. There is a step by step procedure on the front page of the sight that will show you everything to do. The carb cleanup series.

Before you go tearing the carbs apart, test the petcock! I just had the same problem. The diaphram for the petcock had a pinhole in it. Drove me nuts!
Easy test. Attach a clear hose to the vacuum port. Suck on the hose and see if you see any fuel. There shouldn't be any. The petcock gets it's signal from #2 cyl.
 
i did that already as i already postedbut i am changing it anyways. it is the original. i want to do these carbs so i can know for sure that they are done right
 
well #1 is in the dip had a prob with pilot screw but finally decided to pound a poker tool into hole a little and just pull out. i unscrewed it fine but it would not come out. i think i can actually get this thing done in the next few days, maybe even tomorrow. how long should i leave in the dip?
 
robert barr i just ordered some o-rings from you hopefully i can get those soon so i can get this beast back on the road or at least the carbs finished.
 
ok all i don't have a dremel and a screw on top of #2 is all stripped out. wasn't me i swear. but at least #1 has been dipped and ready to be put back together once i get the orings in
