A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

My Clymer manual doesn't really show this. Even my local motorcycle repair shop's service manual doesn't go into great depth about it either. All the lines were missing as a result of years of the bike sitting, & being ravaged by a dog of all things!
Basically, all the rubber fuel lines are missing and I can't figure out how the main supply feed from the petcock runs to the carbs & also how the line runs from the reserve feed port as well. Plus, the carbs have a nipple on the bottom on each float bowl...how are these connected & to what? Are they connected to each other? I need some help, or a diagram. Thanks for any suggestions.

Without looking at my bike, I can tell you right now that the nipples on the bottom of the float bowls are just drains. If you want to be super clean guy when draining the carbs, you can stuff some hose on them. Otherwise, they are naked. As for the other stuff, I would have to look at my bike, which is not near my computer. Will make mental note to have a good look tomorrow. 8)

The nipples on the bottom of the float bowls are overflows they should be tubed back and down, to drop on the ground. If it has a stock petcock there should be a large tube connection and a small one. The large one is the gas supply piped to carbs, the small one should be a vacuum connection hooked to the second carb from left. Safe Riding, Bill

your 77 gs should have the older slide type carbs The vacuum for the petcock is taken from the #3 carb #2 & 4 carb fittings are for overflow hose (vent) routed upand behind the air box. The movable fitting between 2&3 is for fuel. The niples on the bottom of the fuel bowls are over flow and should have a hose connected and routed down by the swing arm.I am assuming that the tank is rusty. The fuel cannot be to clean, if you can aford it have your tank prof repaired (Kreemed) do it. If you do it (it is easy)yourself DO NOT RUSH THE WORK take your time and you can do a presentable job at home
