    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Fuel & vacuum lines, 79 GS750L

Where can I find a diagram of the fuel & vac lines for this machine? I know there is a small hose on the gas tank as well as the fuel line: where does it connect? Also where does the line from the petcock connect? I'm planning on taking off the carbs tomorrow morning and don't think all these lines are connected now.

O.K. Here goes.

You're gas line the larger of the two lines coming off your petcock goes to a T-fitting between #2 and #3 carbs....right in the center.

As for the rest of the lines, on the #2, #3, and #4 carbs there is a nipple just to the left of the slider tube and to the left and just above the air intake to each carb. #1 has no such nipple.

#2 and #4 lines vent to atmosphere... they hook up to nothing.

Your vacuum line (the smaller line) off your petcock goes to the nipple on the #3 carb.

Hey thanks for the speedy get back! Do the numbers you used correspond to the numbers in the exploded parts view at Bike Bandit?

yeah, #1 would be the far left carb as you face forward on the bike. Also the diagram only show the hoses that vents #2 and #3, but not #4. There IS one however for #4.

The hoses on the bottom of the carb hook up to the overflow tubes on the bottom, if you have hoses for them.
 
It all worked out great! I took the carbs off this morning, cleaned them up and then forgot what you posted. Thought I remembered but just wasn't sure. Called home and my daughter was there and looked it up for me. One thing I did to speed up the starting proces after putting them back on was pour fuel directly into the fuel line before connecting it to the tank. Filled the bowls up most of the way before I hit the starter.
Got her idling great. Now to work on the bog down when applying throttle.
