gauge lights

As I am new to motorcycling, I am very stupid about such things, so I will ask a stupid quesiton and you guys can poke and make fun, but here goes....

I recently drove my motorcycle for the first time at night....... and I noticed something distrurbing........ I can't see my speedo or tach. They don't light up.

The gear indcator lights, the neutral light does, and the turn signals......

Now the question is..... Is this normal?? and if not how do you fix it?

First thing I would do is take the covers off the back of tach/speedo and check the bulbs

Did you say your signals and guage lights and gear indicator lights don't work? If all of thsoe don't work you've blown a fuse. This recently happened to me and all thsoe thigns are in the "signal" fuse. It should be a 10amp fuse. If it's only the guage lights that don't work then you've probably blown the lights.
