I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi guys,

I received in a replacement exhaust today from a nice fellow here and I was wondering if anyone out there can help point me in the right direction.

My bike is an 82' GS1100EZ.

He believed that the exhaust he shipped me was a sidewinder which should match my bike. I'll attach a few images here for your review.

On the good news side the header fits perfectly into the engine itself (I have not yet tightened down the header nuts.)

Question #1
I'm worried about the proximity of the header to the brake pedal. Looks like when I tighten those bolts up either I'll barely miss the brake or I'll certainly have an issue. Thoguths/ comments?

Question #2
My original exhaust from PO was a 4-1 C&H street. That megaphone was bolted in thru the passenger foot peg. If I hold up the megaphone that came with the sidewinder I'm way off of that position.

So do I in fact have a GS1100EZ sidewinder or was this unit intended for a different bike?

If this is the correct exhaust where should I be trying to bolt the megaphone in thru?

Thanks.

1-You will have to modify the brake pedal.
2-You will have to make a bracket to mount the meg.
It look like a GS pipe.
Crazypaint has a couples of pics of the brake pedal he modified. He have the same bike(i think).

Sidewinders are usually used by drag racers. :o

Drag racers, by definition, are more concerned with GO than WHOA.

You will have to modify the brake pedal and fabricate a mount for the 'muffler'.
