A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi hope someone can tell me if what I'm trying to do will work.
I have a GS1100 (1980 reg) and I want to change the carb's for larger one's, (38-40mm). I've been told that early gsxr's carb's will fit but I have noticed that these sit on the gsxr's engine at a angle with the float bowl level.
My quistion is if I fit these to my engine the carb's are up-right with the float bowl's at an angle, would they still work as they should do.:?

I do believe the 88-91 GSXR1100s had the 38s. They will bolt on with K&N filters.
Jetting required of course.

It was actually the '91-92 750's that came with the 38's in the U.S., 1100's came with 36's. I think the Canadian 750's came with the 40's. You will have to angle the carbs towards the engine using a to level out the float bowls and reset the floats a little lower. However you may have an issue with the carb boots as they will have to stretch pretty wide to accept the 38's. I doubt the 40's will fit unless you switch to a '91-'92 GSXR 750 head (got one for sale great shape with the valve cover, no cams, cheap, PM me). I tried to get a set of the GSXR 36's to work on my bike but never could get them to my satisfaction. Other folks on this website have made them work however.

Thanks for clearing that up RJ. I was selling those carbs on Fleabay a few years ago but forgot the details.
Wanna buy a 17 inch rim? \\:D/
