A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Just wondering the ins and outs of putting a 1150 crank and rods in a 1100 I know I'll need new pistons and clutch hub, can i still use my head or go to a 1150 head.....just wondering Thanks

You have it covered with what you are swapping , of cause an 1150 head flows better!!

Thanks Jimbo,I ran a 93 gsxr for 6 years, with some typical mods it made 140 bhp.I threw 50, 70, and eventually 100 hp of nitrous at it.It ran 9.0's @ 157 like nothing, and it never sneezed.I broke it up,and sold it before it was time to freshen it up.Now I have an 83 gs1100,bought it stock, put an 8" arm,97 gsxr wheels,02 gsxr frontend,1166cc kit,34 flatslides, etc. It runs 10.8's and 10.2's with a baby shot of juice.the thanks is,these bikes are more fun to tinker and experiment with than the (tear the bike apart to change the plugs)bikes of present. And you hit on an option/question that I was going to ask myself.thanks, Steve

I've got a GS1150 crank in my 1100..
you'd need to get new pistons because of the 20mm pins also get an 1150 clutch hub with gear because the no. of teeth differ from the 1100..
and finally there's the 29mm crank taper..

can i still use my head or go to a 1150 head
yep.. either the 1100 or 1150 will bolt up nicely (mind the different length studs for the 1150 head though)[/i]
