A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

hi everyone

i've been looking for oversize pistons 1.0 for my 1980 gs850
- the part number is:
12111-45110-100

i am wondering if the pistons from the gs425 might actually be the same thing
- the part number is:
12111-45100-100

maybe someone has one of those books that tell you what parts are interchangeable? or know from experience?

425 is a 2 cylinder engine and 850 is a 4 cylinder so the numbers kind of work out that the cylinder sizes may be the same, i think.

help greatly appreciated, as i am unable to find gs850 pistons but can get some gs425!

cheers everyone

The 425 pistons are too small. stock bore is 66mm. 850 pistons are 69mm.

I just went through trying to find oversized pistons for my '79 850. 1st oversized piston are available, (I just recieved mine last month) but the confusion is that they are sold as a set (piston and rings together) with a single part number, and sometimes that confuses the parts guys. If you continue to have trouble PM me or something and I'll get you the part number.

that also explains the higher price on 0.5 pistons!

but i actually already have all the rings and two pistons 1.0 so i really need to get just two more 1.0 pistons.
would you know who might have them?
i emailed quite a few places with no luck
cheers

the 1mm over pistons are still available for the 850, pistons for the 425 are not available from suziki in any size.

when I rebuilt the top end on my 1000G 6 years ago .5mm over pistons were not available any more but I have just discovered they are back available now.

Seriously. Click on the Z1enterprises site in my previous post and give them a call.

sent them an email but they recon they don't have them

might have found some at anderson-vintage-parts

thanks
