    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi folks,

So my dad passed away Oct 2012. One of the things he left behind was his all original 1977 GS750. He bought it new in 1977 for $2799 CDN. This bike has been around my entire life (I was born in 1979), and is a part of my family now and I will never sell it. It's at the shop right now being safetied as it hasn't been on the road since 2008. I can't wait to ride it and am hoping to find a few others to ride with locally. Here is a pic I snapped of it before it headed to the shop.

I do have the side covers and mirrors I just took them off before it got loaded on the truck.

Welcome to the forum. That looks like a beauty you've inherited. I found the price your dad paid interesting. I bought my 83 750 new in 1984 for $3300. The 84 was selling for $3600 but I liked the styling of the 83 and saved 300 bucks. Looks like we had a little inflation going on during those 6 years. LOL

Nice bike and welcome to the forum. If you wanna find "people to ride with locally" it would help to tell us where you live. Lol

Yup $2799! I actually have the original bill of sale for it as well.

I live in southwestern Ontario.

Lovely bike and nice memories tied to it
I paid 2799 for my 550 in 83

South western Ontario? Why you have many GS riders nearby..Thee are probably more but immediate memory says you have some only a short distance over the border, in US of Eh? either via Sarnia or Niagara Falls, Thee may even be one in Sarnia, plus a couple north of Simcoe, and I believe at least two near Woodstock. Of course, there are also those from Hamilton, Mrs. Sausage, Toronto and eastward.

Glad to see another Ontarian on the Forum! The '77 750 was a nice year, I lucked out in getting an '82 for my first bike. Recently chose a rebuild over an upgrade so I'd say I'm hooked. :D

Thanks for the friendly replies. I am located in Blenheim Ontario.
