A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Went to Saturday night Midnight Madness and ran the big GS. On my 5th pass I hurt the crank. My airshifter did not have enough air in it and it missed the 3rd to 4th shift. I heard a noise on the return road. Pulled the stator cover and the big end of the crank is wobbly....twisted a welded crank. I guess a rev limiter only can do so much. I guess now I will take it apart and send the crank back off for repair. I need to get one of those GSXR outboard ALT. kits and get all that weight off the end of the crank. Or either part the rest of the bike out. have not made up my mind yet.

When mine did that is was broken like Jay said. Ended up taking the magnets totally off. haven't had a problem since.

Yea it could be broken. I will tear it down and see what's up. I guess I will have to send it off to be repaired. Don't know where yet.

Is that an 80 crank. The left end is hollow with an oil passage going thru it on the 80's. They are well known for breaking. I still use the small taper cranks, but have the end changed to a late model small end taper thats not hollow. You may want to check out gardner for crank work. I don't think falicon is into rebuilding them. Gardner has done my last two cranks and I'm very happy with the work. Whomever you go to use a reputable shop. Gardner, HMP, Falicon.

It's an 86 Big end crank. It broke at the #1 throw/rod. It was welded already and had the strait cut gear on it. I will send it to GRC to see if they can rebuild it. Also maybe make it a little stronger.

If all you did was break the crank consider yourself VERY lucky. The last one we broke took out one side of the motor. Cases, one liner, starter plate, tagged a couple of valves. We use a blanket on every bike thank goodness and no one was hurt. Some of the parts hit the bike next to ours and put some pretty deap cuts into his fork tubes.

Good luck getting it back together. Glad you weren't hurt.

I think I am going to check to see if anybody wants parts from it.
