Hi new to the GS world, trying to get my CL 1983 GS850G on the road. I have dismantled and serviced most of the air/fuel system, as per BikeCliff of course. One thing I haven't seen - how do you set the initial idle position when putting it all back together? Since I have had some problems (1-9 on the newbie list), I have been screwing with the idle screw and it is definitely not in the right position. I have backed it off until it's slack, and then snugged it, but I assume it needs to be cranked up so the bike will start. Can anyone offer some advice or point me to an existing thread that I didn't see?
