    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ignition leads where to buy cool looking ones ?

Hi.. Feel like making my bike looking awesome. I have standard ignition leads and caps.

I have seen some amazing Looking leads at classic car shows.

Can we get them for bikes ? GS 550

Just an idea :-)
 
If you look at where the ign. Lead attaches to the coils, its epoxied in :-(
You may be able to slip some kind of cover over the existing lead, or get new coils with changeable plug wires.

Hopefully someone else out there has a better solution.

They can be dug out and replaced.
 
Mum might give it a go. Where can I buy good looking spark plug caps????
 
The proper way to do it would be to replace the coils with a set of Dyna coils. Then you can use any type of wires you want
 
Dyno Coils are costly unless ya find a deal someplace.The old wires can be removed from the OEM coils without much work but ya have to be careful not to damage the little prongs inside the coils. The coils should also be removed from the bike to do it.A search might turn up some pics of the procedure.I've often thought about some yellow/red wires for my 850 but haven't really looked for wire in bulk. I did however change em a while back with some cheapy black plug wires I bought at Auto Zone. Works just fine.

I have ACCEL coils and wires...

I have ACCEL coils and wires...

...but the PO did a sloppy job (like everything he did on this bike). The outer two cylinders have straight caps, which make the leads stick out too far. It's been a long time since I made ignition leads, and I'd really like to put 135 degree boots on. Is there a resistor in the cap, and is it just a twist off the straight ones and twist the 135 degree on?

Great idea!
Only thing, I have never seen heat shrink tubing in any color other than black.
Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place?
