A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

ok well i have put the new coils on and same problem as b4 everything else checks out im about to take the wire harness apart just to triple check that there are no pinched wires.. the starter button & kill switch is good, coils are good and new, signal gen. tested good. in about to check but all connectors checked good... is there another thing other than the igniter that might be causing the non spark of a brand new coil? also when i tried to test the igniter not using a 1.5v battery with the bike switched on.. the coil that was not firing got a little warm to the touch?? not so hot that you would burn yourself it was just warm and the coil that was firing was cool as ever....:-k
sounds to me like a bad ground on that coil.. which is the white wire going to the igniter.. im going to check this wire all the way to the plug 4 the igniter to see whats what..

im just trying to eliminate possibilities before i throw more cash around..

is there anything else i can test or look for while i am there that might cause a coil not to work?? while i am doing the for mentioned?

i think i have the problem boiled down with the spark/ignition issue.. ok i tested the hell out of the igniter.. and the wires that go to the coils.. the continuity of both wires that go to the coils was 3ohms.. ok the one that's firing read 12v with the ignition on and the igniter hooked back up the other (left coil) that one i could not get a solid reading of much of anything.. i did that dry cell battery test and the one that fire's did and the other did not (big shock here..) well from all that i think i have deduced that its the igniter..stop me if it all sounds a bit shady or iffy
