DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Island Classic news

Cool bike. Good to see ingenuity instead of a huge checkbook. Wondering why they only get 2 days out of a head? And what is this GSX-1000S crank they speak of? 185 air cooled horsepower is big....

I can't see the videos or open the link...But I was talking today to the owner of the bike which won the class last year. I had a fairly big finger in it...It was built for NZ circuits, a big GSX1100, so was set up for midrange. He noted it was actually well down on top speed to some of the Aussie bikes and was talking bigger cams. I told him to simply retime the cams. They have a spare day before the meeting so we'll see how it goes...

I would imagine that a GSX1000 S crank is from the 1000cc version of the Katana which was done to provide a legal base engine for AMA racing.

185hp is actually down a bit from what the top team claimed a couple of years back. They were sticking up Dyno charts showing around 200hp - and using an engine a day per bike....came with several pallets of engines I was told.

Had an email from my mate Steve - GSX1100 owner as mentioned above. He's got Dean Oughtred on the bike at PI this year.
They'd run it in practise as it was last year to give Dean some time on it. It was same as before - a bit flat up top.
A guy from a couple of pits down came and got interested - apparently he'd owned Megacycle...
He redialled the cams to 110/113 LC's, leaned it out a bit and bumped the advance up 4 degrees.
It won a race...
They're sharing a pit garage with Classic Suzuki GB team - which they're beating. Their bike Steve describes as Wank Factor 9 wheras his struggles to reach Wank Factor 2. He finds it hard to keep a straight face.
I'm loving it.

Well the big GSX finished 2nd in the Unlimited Forgotten Era class overall. Behind Marty Craggill ( multiple Aussie champion) on a TZ750.
But importantly, in front of Classic Suzuki Team GB...
