I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

If they suck i'll stick 'em back up on ebay and take a loss for yet another dumb mistake. never thought about the 'purple problem'.

Well, here's my update. I received my order of 4 bulbs yesterday.
Two of them i screwed up, and ordered 3157s by mistake it seems... I did a quick search on his 'other auctions' and bought the wrong thing. Oh well. TOTALLY WRONG mount. These are RED.
If anyone wants them and can USE THEM, they can have them for postage... But I won't charge the ungodly postage this guy charged. HE sent all 4 bulbs in a small bubble-wrap envelope, and charged me $21 shipping! (he gave me a $4 discount on shipping the second set, as he normally gets $12 per pair of bulbs... such a bargain...! (not). The package weighed a WHOPPING 4 ounces according to the nice PITTNEY-BOWES stamp on the corner.
The other two are indeed 1157s. Blue sort of color I guess, although they really look white when you turn them on.
In my view, they are as dim as the LED bulbs I already had that almost got me a ticket a month ago.
My Goldwing has two bulb sockets in a w-i-d-e taillight, making a side-by-side test EASY. Pulled the lens, pulled one bulb and put in a new LED.
It was not even a contest... the LED was significantly less visual output than the 1157 incandescent, even naked. Hmmmm.... It was even worse when I put the lens back on. Like night and day. The old bulb was WAY BRIGHTER than these LEDs.
Problem is, this guy charges 25% restocking fee if I want my money back, (plus I pay lose the initial shipping and eat the return ship too); OR I have to pay his horribly high shipping BOTH WAYS if I want to just do a straight swap (as in a defective item). These aren't defective, they just do not begin to live up to this guy's claims. They might be usable if there was no lens involved, but otherwise, no way.
At those prices, I got $18 worth of bulbs (4) plus $21 in shipping in an experiment and ended up with nothing but two unusable and two unsafe LED bulbs (in my view.)
I can't use these. Anybody want 'em? Maybe you'll like 'em better. But, that's ok. I feel I did this as a public service to you all here on GSR. Don't buy these bulbs unless you know for a fact they will be what you hope they will.
(I will send you this guys' ebay userID on-request, so as not to get the board into any hot water.)
So much for this experiment. It was a bust. Guess I'll stick with real bulbs. If people really want to see the test, I can post pics. Let me know.
p.s. I know that based on how this guy operates, I'm debating not leaving him ANY feedback at all. I'd love to leave him a negative, but he'd pay me back with a negative in return, despite my prompt paypal payment. What do you think? Do I risk my perfect 100% in the name of justice? OR, do I just take my lumps and leave it at that. This guy has 5-digit positive, so he's not worried about a gnat like me.

By all means, please post pics. The amber and red ones I got are really bright...I can't say I've tried the blue.
I wonder if they are the exact bulbs I have? :?

I'll take a couple of pics and stick 'em up here for a little bit. Guess I didnt' realize I had to have a specific color, although the link you posted is what I bought...
no harm done. its all part of R&D. Besides, its just my daughter's inheritance money.
oh yeah, you don't have to ask me who the vendor was... just check out the link 8-track posted in the earlier part of this thread... 8-track got good ones, so maybe color is everything.

I put some of the Radiantz brand LED's on my KTM and they are so bright that if you look at them from six feet away you'll see spots when you look away. I used the 1.25" wafers. How can you properly evaluate your purchase when two are the wrong color, and the other two don't even fit? :-s The link in my post goes to a red 1157. :?

Aw, 8-track, I don't want to argue here and this is an non-adversarial reply.
But, regarding your statement, i'm baffled. I bought what was in the link, and i got what I think are either blue or wierd white... but they aren't bright, and I am certain of that, regardless of the color. They work just like the other ones I had that almost got me a ticket. If I remember right now, the picture was of RED LEDs, but the fine print in the description I think says 'blue'... anyway, its moot now... and no worries. I should have been more careful in my purchase; that's my fault.
Also, the guy's policies regarding returns and swaps are so cost-prohibitive such that I'd be throwing the baby out with the bath water if I tried to work with him on getting an exchange... Its the monetary equivalent of trying to save money by getting your TV or PC monitor fixed. Its cheaper to buy a new one with a warranty. So, such is life. I think the street terminology is "jumping past a dollar to pick up a nickel".
But, how can I evaluate my purchase? Its easy! In this application they are not bright enough. I see what I see; maybe you see yours differently. Its very possible. Maybe RED is the key. I don't know. But, I can see it plainly with THESE LEDs, even with the lens off my bike that they aren't bright enough. The wrong RED ONES may be "the cat's meow", but I can't test them... That was my fault.
Finally, I offered to let someone else have them for mailing cost ~ACTUAL mailing cost, not an inflated 'here's how I make my money' cost.... As I said, maybe someone else would be jumping up and down in the church aisle to get these LED bulbs. But I cant use them. Its that simple. But, its my problem, too. Sharing my experience (*your mileage may vary) was the purpose of my post, just as I'd promised that I would do; good or bad. I am not blaming you for anything. I'm a big boy.
Would you like them? An honest person would charge about $5 or so to mail a 4 envelope with 4 bulbs in it, not $21.
Seriously, I think I just got what I paid for, and if I want the really bright LEDs, I'll have to pay more to get them. That's all. By the way, I had a bad LED (later found it to be my fault but didn't know it at the time) which Radiantz gladly replaced. It cost me only shippin gto send the defective one back. I called them and actually spoke to a real person who immediately gave me a return authorization number.

Feel bad for Warrah....I, too, bought some "bad" white 1157 led's online. Under my tail-light lense I couldn't use them for a nite-lite in my bathroom! 8 track's link did take me to the red bulbs; although now, seeing how much that fellow is touting his integrity, I'm just a little skeptical. I'll bet I can find a local outlet for a good red led.

red led with a red lens is required. as far as brightness, some are some arent.drove trucks and some are nice and bright, others sucked for the big rig. white led will not work good with a red lens due to low output of red color from led in simple terms.

I work with leds in the medical field for a living and there is one topic here that I did not see. The reflector that is being used if the reflector is not correct for the bulb the output will not be as good. That maybe why some people have better luck than others with the same leds.
