DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I tore down my carbs today would like to replace some of the parts if i can get them (buy them) the seat o rings look hard ,bad what else should i replace ? couldn't find any kits anywhere for the 300

O-rings are easy to find, I just go to a local hydraulic shop and they have all you'll ever need. As for the main jet and pilot jet, those are easy to replace, just find some that are the same size as the ones in your carburetor. The float needle and housing should be replaced, if you dig long enough you'll more than likely find some. In rare cases (like the one I'm struggling with) the jet needle will be wore and need to be replaced. I know there are some for sale for the 300 on Ebay right now. But if anyone knows where I can find a 5CHT40(A) needle at that would be great! I've been searching for a few hours, but cant find anything. Hope this helps you!

I suspect the float valve, pilot screw, and drain O-rings, are the same as most other GS bikes. I can put together a kit for you, but I can't guarantee fitment because I've never worked on a set of 300 carbs.

You won't find the proper sizes at a hydraulic shop. Most of the required sizes are very specialized.

You're probably right, I've only ever used Keyster kits that come with all the O-rings except for the fuel rails (In my experience). I then get the fuel rail O-rings from the hydraulic shop.

I like Keyster kits, but they do not come with all the O-rings. For example, they don't come with the O-rings for the vent Tee's, the drain screws, nor the pilot screws. I sometimes buy the cheapest Keyster kits I can find, but I only use the float bowl gaskets and the float valves. I do not use the jets unless the originals in the carbs are damaged. I'd much rather clean a real deal Mikuni jet, compared to using an aftermarket Keyster jet.

Another thing you'll want to replace is your carb boots. Cruzin' Image just started stocking boots for the gs300 and gs250. But you might have to wait a bit. I don't think they have them yet.
