A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I just read some of the posts on the last few days regarding exhausts.
I own a GS1000G and thought about putting on the Vance/Hines and the Mac, but after viewing them on other machines I don't like (my preference only) the way they sit really low to the ground.
I looked around for a Alpha system but couldn't get hold of one (I used to have one on my GS1000G when I was 19)
I decided to go ahead and get a 4-1 Harris system, I had to have it shipped from England, but I must say the chrome finish is wonderful.
I have a friend in England that rides a Kawasaki Z1000ST with a Harris which sounds great, with no power loss and no real loud behind him.
I have not even started mine yet, but will post a little note when it's done.
If you do decide to go get a 4-1 pipe for any model, DONT buy the MOTAD system! it's crap and restricts any machine.

Thanks Phil.

Curious which V&H system?
I have a V&H on my S and have never come close to it touching down.
It allowed me to keep the center stand and easily get to the oil drain plug and filter.

V/H

V/H

Don't know which one actually, but I have seen a few that look like trombones attached to 4 downpipes.

That would be the V&H Pro street. The V&H chrome megaphone like KGB and I have turn up more in the rear and the header is closer in.
Don't forget to buy new exhaust gaskets for the new pipe, and make sure your bolts are in good condition and the correct length. Sometimes a new pipe means longer/shorter bolts.

If it's the Harris pipe you want..... see GS1000G PICS UPLOADED in the members section. I paid $650 (with Shipping) from England.
I cant find my reciept for it, but scan over www.ebay.co.uk and search in there for it.
Or even try google.com for Harris exhausts, the Company that I bought it from actually makes them.
