DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello,
new member to site - just picked up an 82 gs750 - one of the carb bodies has a broken post to hold the float. like to get a new carb body but not sure if the carbs are original.

i have looked and looked and other than "mikuni", not seeing anything stamped on the body to id it as to what model # it is -

any clue to where the model # is stamped??

thanks in advance, looking forward to getting this biek back on the road

Welcome to the forum.

Both ‘82 750 models, the T and the E, had the same carbs as shown on this chart found on BikeCliffs Website. Which model do you have? Sorry, I don’t know if or where any identifiers may be stamped on the carbs. But if you show us some pics, I can compare them to mine.

I know there are some good YouTube videos on broken float post repair. I also think I remember seeing a tutorial floating around somewhere as well.

A few helpful links in my signature especially for new guys. Start with the top 10. BikeCliffs website is a treasure trove of info and helpful how-tos. If you’re interested in posting full size pics to the forum, I have info on that too, using Imgur as a pic hosting site. Like this:

Go ahead and add your bike year and model to a signature, then you’ll never have to type then info (or forget to type that info) when you post questions. Go to Settings at the top right of any page, signature links will then be on the left side.

Tip on using this site’s search function: In order to get any meaningful results you must use Advanced and you after typing your key word(s) you must change the search criteria to Titles Only.

If the stamping is still visible, it will be near the top of the carb body, just below the flange for the diaphragm. I have seen them on either side of the carb, but it WILL be on the side. Just a permanent ink stamping, nothing embossed or engraved.

The carbs are Mikuni BS32's. Specific details matter though and ideally you should have the part number specific to your bike. The pressed in air jets can't be changed for example. Check the carb sticky post and check out the details.

thanks for all the info, going to try to repair post and see how it goes...
