A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

When installing my new Dynojet kit today into the GS's CV carbs I miffed up enlarging one of the slide holes. My first slide I was very careful to enlarge the hole straight and vertical... problem is they're an angled hole. the drill bit into the inside near where the large spring rests. Where can I get a new carb slide?

I don't believe those holes have to be that precise... the larger dia hole allows the slide to drop faster - not really rocket science.

I wouldn't worry about not having a straight, perfect hole - they should work fine.

The only problem is that the hole penetrates around the plastic top-hat over the needle. If JB weld will work in that area without creating problems then that's what I'll do.

Hi,

If necessary, partsnmore.com has a carbslide/diaphragm for your bike @ $75 each. Z1 doesn't list them on their website but you might give them a call to see if they can get them at any better price.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

post a picture.
the 1st few jet kits i did..i used a drill press.
not good but everything worked fine with the one sided oval holes.
i found out the best way is to let the bit follow the hole by hand.

Okay here are the pictures:

With needles and clips in place

With everything removed

The c-clip can be rotated to block the hole, but I don't know if that will do much.

On a side note blowerbike. I am in Trenton, IL which is right near Germantown, IL. Every time i see you post I initially think you live a few miles from me.

That hole should work fine - give it a go.

Also, when I re-install the circlip, I rotate the little ears over the plastic, keeping the spaces open & unobstructed. I figure that will help vent the slides a wee bit faster. (OK, so I'm anal...)

As long as the hole is the correct diameter on one side or the other you're good to go.

I might have an extra carb slide if you need one. I'd have to check. PM me if interested.

Thank you for the offer. I'll run it first, and if there is a problem I'll be sure to contact you.
