DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Finally. I found a few plug boots that were not screwed on all the way. Damned, and I ordered some coils and plug boots. Maybe I could return them, or just go ahead and put them on. Anyways, I blasted around a bit to see what she had, not bad. I like the induction howl of the POD's, sounds pretty cool. Not near the power of my ZRX1200, but it has some gidiup. I have one of the front calipers off, so I couldn't use the front brakes. I will start working on rebuilding these, as I have the parts to do that. I also need to replace the fork seals.

Congrats.

I have not seen any of your previous posts to see what all you have done, so I have to ask ...
did you re-jet for the pods? :-k

If you did not, you are not done yet. :o

you don't rejet for 29's, Just stating it so not to confuse Slip. But some plug chops would be in order to see if the 29's are dialed in otherwise you do need to play with the jetting.

Congrats.

The only thing I did to the carbs, was to dip and rebuild them. When I got the bike, it was kinda sluggish in the midrange. I assumed it was running rich, because when I took the plugs out, they had soot on them. The jetting is the same as other VM29 setups I have read on here. 112.5 mains, 25 pilots. And the only other thing I did was to put the needle clip in the second position from the top. They were in the middle position. But come to think of it, the rich condition could have been from dirty pod filters, or the plug caps not on all the way, or from weak spark. I guess now that I have new coils, and plug caps coming, I might as well install them to see if runs even better.:D

So far with the initial cost of the bike of $1500, I now have about $1800 total into the project. I guess this is not bad. :D
