A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My BMW dealer...

So last week on the way back from a trip my back tire had been losing pressure. That was on Saturday morning that I woke up in Whistler to a back tire reading 17lbs..called my dealer and they said if you can get here by 3 we will look after you.
Got there at 2:30and was on my way by 4. Had to put a new pilot 4 on as I had a staple in the old pilot 4. The tires already had 10,500kms (7000miles) on them. I got tire and rim insurance thrown in when I bought the bike and they decided to see if I could get it covered. Long shot at best with those miles.
Anyway next day I'm washing my bike and noticed they had scratched the rim. Not bad but still a couple of little scratches.
Anyway the service mgr looked at the rim today and said I had acouple of options...they would have the rim painted and would need the bike for a few days or they would get me a new rim or we could do some sort of credit.
Well I new I would need to replace the front tire soon so I said "how about a new pilot 4 for front installed". He said "done". I can live with the scratches.
So it even gets better..they called me later today and said insurance is going to pay for the rear tire! $50 deductible. So two new pilot 4 tires for $50 installed.
I told the dealer "I know that mistakes are made and that I don't judge on the mistake, what I judge on is how the mistake is taken care of". Nice job Island BMW!!
