    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Need brake line measurement for anti-dives.

I have an 80 1000G. I recently purchased a set of forks from an 1100E? Which have the anti dive units. What I need is the eye to eye length of the hoses that go from the caliper to the anti dive units. Also any info on what angle fittings they use, and routing would be helpfull.

I just measured mine on the bike and it is sorta difficult because the hose passes through a keeper on the inside of the lower tube. I only have a metal tape but I will use the same measurements when I replace my hoses too, so if it's wrong we're both screwed. I got 12 1/2 inches from the inside of the eyes, not the middle. Because of the smaller diameter of the new tubing I would suggest 12 1/4 or perhaps 12 even. I think I will go 12 1/4. The rear fitting is straight and it is on the rear of the double banjo bolt. The front fitting is 20 degrees toward the fork leg. I hope this is what you need and I also hope that someone has one off the bike for a better measurement.

I would recommend simply blocking off the anti-dive units and running lines direct to the calipers only. The anti-dive is hard to bleed, contributes to mushy lever feel and offers no increase in performance.

Even better, add Progressive Suspension or Race Tech fork springs, and block off the anti-dive.

Ha, I knew I'd get a few of ya tellin me to forego the anti dive. However I am a tinkerer by blood. I bought the anti dive forks just to try out. I am also using a CBR 929 m/c & Russel SS lines. My current setup has progressive springs and racetech cartridge emmulators. I am just mucking about to see what configuration works best. I even tried out a pair of L model forks for a bit. :-D
