    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well I messed up. Hoping you guys could help me out. I'm reassembling my Mikuni BS34 carbs, and I cannot figure out where this little black rubber (or plastic, can't tell) washer goes. I checked all through my disassembly photos, as well as BassCliff's epic walkthrough found here with no luck.

This pesky washer is the exact same size as the little brass washer that sits below the main jet. Here are two pics of the two washers side-by-side, and on top of each other. Here is a picture of it seated in in the main jet pillar (is that the right term?).

If you need any more info I'm happy to assist!
 
It goes on top of the metal plug thats there to fill the hole they made during manufacturing. The washer sits between the plug and the bowl gasket and it holds the plug up in there once the bowl is out on. There are no rubber washers anywhere else in CVcarbs. There are the rubber plugs that go into the pilot jet holes though..be sure they are there also. The brass ones go on the main jet and it holds the needle jets in place as you tighten in the mains.
 
Yes! Thanks, Chuck! I didn't even know that plug was movable. I poked at it, and it came out. Should this be a part that is able to move freely? Should I thoroughly clean it/lube it?
 
No..the hole was made so they could get their tooling in to drill or mill whatever they needed..which then required a plug. Its just a plug and nothing else. The washer presses against it when the bowl is put on to keep it in snug, basically to keep it from rattling around and keep the bores integrity Other than that its useless. Doesnt need lubed or anything.
