A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey i recently acquired a 1980 gs850, that i plan on turning inot a cafe racer. unfortunatly the bike has been sitting for a long while, and the whole front brake assembly is frozen. i could probably rebuild the whole thing and maybe make it work, but i would rather just upgrade to some better/ more modern brakes.
so my question is this, what newer models of brakes will fit on the bike.
(like will gsxr brakes fit on there or are the mounting bolts in different places?)
Thanks for your time

No - older bias wheel can't take wider modern calipers

Yes - that's the other reason

Search for the Kawasaki Twinpot upgrade on here - that's all the brakes your bias tire can handle

Hi Mr. robertras,

You'll find a virtual GS850G partay on my little website. Stop by and have a look. I know a member by the name of salty_monk who has the lowdown on a good twin pot brake upgrade mod. You'll need an adapter plate that is not too difficult to fabricate. Search the forum for his posts or drop him a PM.

Now let me dump a TON of information on you and share some GS lovin'. :D

I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.

Actually, that's a bit more than they can handle with two fingers. I love it. With salty_monk's brackets and GS1000G Shoppers component recommendations, it's pretty easy.

Hey i keep seeing references to the kawasaki dual pot mod, but i cant find the thread that actually says what it is (and what parts i need to aquire) ><
