A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

machine is a 1981 gs450T
list of what i already did:
-disassembled the carbs and replaced with new o-rings
-new intake o-rings
-airbox to 2/3 taped pods(to decrease air/fuel mix)

redid the electronics to a plate under the seat to get ready for some cafe mods and when i was done i threw a charged battery on there and with a little coaxing from the starter she turned over, after having her for nearly 4 months she was running...well after a while i noticed some liquid on the starter cover below the carbs...after some investigating its coming out of the crank case breather which has no tube in it(no airbox). i tried smelling it but its pollen season and i cant really tell if its gas/oil or just oil. i have not changed the oil/filter since i purchased it and when running the oil light is on. any help is greatly appreciated. also i cant jump on her and take her around the block because the clutch doesnt engage, but thats later on down the road.

Hi,

Can you see your oil level, or is it over-full? If you're not using your airbox, get another little pod-type filter for the breather. Also, if you take off the valve cover and breather, you should see four pieces of wire mesh, 2 in the breather and 2 in the valve cover. These are to catch the oil vapors so that they fall back into the engine.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

When installing pods you need to take your breather tube and dump it into a catch container of some sort to catch the splooge. Be inventive.

so i went and got 2 feet of 3/8ths fuel hose and hooked it up, sure enough when i stuck it in an empty coke bottle not a drop was in it...awesome guys! havent cracked open the top bass cliff but i will be sure to check for the mesh! now its on to read about how im gonna get this clutch to cooperate and to fix an oil leak thats back there, and i have a little hangin rev issue now haha it never ends! but thanks guys, top notch crew here
