Opinions on RM Stator Crimper

Looking at replacing the stator on my GL650. Thinking about buying these crimpers from RM Stator. I guess if you call you can get a 10% discount on the total order. That would make these about $10. What is the opinion of the electrical whizzes here?

sure, generic multi-brand crimper for $10 why not? However, be aware that those dies are changeable..that is different connectors require different dies put into the tool. For instance, the bullet-connectors with the plastic covering use one die (in three wire sizes) but uninsulated connectors (that go into the multi-wire plastic plugs also present on Suzukis use another set of dies...
Ideally, it's nice to have these dies available to suit the ratchet tool you have.

Those RM Stator crimp pliers seem to have the type of jaws that roll over the tangs on OEM type terminals. I'd get them.

There was no link given, so I had to look it up to see what the price was. :-k

$19, which is rather inexpensive. However, as gorminrider mentioned, make sure there are other dies available for other types of crimps.

I got my crimpers from Vintage Connections. They were $35 when I got them (they are $40 now), but there are other dies available, too. I got those, too, but am about to get a second set of crimpers, so I don't have to keep changing the dies.

Yes, I figure two dies are the only ones you need for a Suzuki...One idea per the different dies...they can fit across various "Branded " crimpers all from the same factory... So if the original seller of the crimper can't supply different dies, you might find them on Ebay or wherever. These do look pretty generic...

Yes, they do, don't they...maybe RMstator can tell you more about them and if other dies are available.
