A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I put an aftermarket manual petcock on my '77 GS750 about 5 years ago. The reason is that the OEM unit leaked gas to the carbs with the engine off and I tried a rebuild kit with no success.

Anyway, I noticed that this petcock is dripping gas out of the front of it when in the on position but not in the off position. I found that one of the screws that hold the front plate on had loosened off so tightened it but still leaks. Took the front plate off and the 3-hole rubber gasket looks a little rough around the edges of the 3 ports.

My questions are; does anyone recognize this petcock? I vaguely remember that it is a Pingel but not sure and cannot find anything that looks like it at the Pingel site. The bottom line is that I want to get a new rubber gasket thing so need to find one of those.

BTW, after putting it back together it now does not leak but I do not trust it.

Thanks
Brian

So, even after you tried it once, you still want to go the rebuild route? Buy OEM new and you'll be good for another 30 years.

Thanks for the responses. Of course I can buy a new one, and I may end up going that route but I would like to try and fix this one. That's why I have an old Suzuki; because I like to fix things.

I think that if I can find the correct new gasket for this PC it will not leak anymore and work like new again. Plus I like a manual petcock because I know for sure when it on and off. The convenience of a vacuum PC isn't important to me.

I've never had a Pingel petcock but from the pictures I've seen of them that sure looks like one. And that's the whole point of Pingel, they're rebuildable.

Thought I would give this one last bump to see if anyone recognizes this petcock and/or knows where I could find parts.

thanks
Brian

OK everyone can stop looking :p. It is a Biker's Choice PC and I can get a new 3-hole gasket from Canada's Motorcycle.
