A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I recently purchased a PowerFlo 4000 series Pingal fuel valve and a blank adaptor plate. The dealer didn't know which plate to order, therefor the blank adaptor plate. I drew up the plate and used my existing valve to get dimensions for the bolt hole layout. here is the drawing.

After I had it drawn, I checked the Pingal site and compared the drawing to what was available. Pingal's A1702C-O Adapter Plate 3/8 1.732/44mm Offset is the one that would have worked for me. In their catalog entry the describe it as:3/8"" NPT with 44mm (approximately 1-3/4") bolt pattern
Designed for GSXR1100 with 1/4" offset. This gives no clue that this adaptor fits the older Gs1000 and other tanks. Note: my drawing shows 1.73 inch between holes but still worked. I hope someone will find this info useful in one of their projects.

Thanks for the info, Remington.
Just curious as to why you went with the Pingel instead of stock.
I have used 2 Pingel petcocks on bikes and had a problem with one of them when one of the o-rings got pinched and a shard of rubber blocked flow.
btw, any chance of a larger pic of your Special Edition. Never seen one with an S fairing.

I added the Wes Cooley fairing in the early 80s. I didn't even know there was an S model back then.

The Pingal universal adaptor plate comes with a gasket. On the Pingal plate for the gsxr1100 , it has copper crush washer and a gasket to put under the socket head cap screws. My universal plate didn't come with fasteners. I am using some pan head socket screws with a copper washer and gasket. The Pingal adaptors are counterbored for the fasteners, I don,t have the proper equipment to do that.
I hope this helps
