A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thank you sir, I do not want to risk any damage to this thing for sure. This may be a stupid question, but how much oil should I have in it to do this? I've already drained it and have the oil filter out, I plan on going with fresh oil and another new filter..
Pull the clutch while it's empty. Replace the filter. Full amount of oil - with the bike leaned to the left so as not to spill oil.Once the light's out, replace the clutch and button up the side cover.

Thank you sir, I apologize for the delayed update but, life... Anyhow, I finally got back to the bike yesterday, in looking at the parts fische for my bike last week, I noticed an o-ring that went into an opening from the sump cover to the bottom of the engine that I did not know was there, hmm.. Since I did not recall seeing one when I removed the sump cover originally, I ordered a new one along with a Caltric stator, SH775AA regulator, and the Triumph harness.

I finally got back to the bike yesterday, I pulled the sump cover back off and checked that o-ring, it was still there but was as flat as a piece of paper, replaced that o-ring, put everything back together, went ahead and changed the stator, and added new oil to it (again). I let it sit overnight last night to make sure I didn't have any oil leaks and to assure the oil would fill any open cavities (probably unnecessary but just for piece of mind)..

Started 'er up just a few minutes ago to see if the oil light went off, lo and behold, roughly 6 seconds into running, the oil light (and side stand light) went off, no priming involved !!!!!!!! I can hardly contain myself !!!! Now to change the regulator and wait on my harness to plug 'er in !! Thanks everyone, y'all are awesome !!!!

So, you ran it a tad with gas in the oil? Sir, you have given your engine a good flushing!:D I've flooded my crankcase a couple of times over the years. It's really clean in there and no harm has ever shown up. Just change the oil out properly.
