    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

And if you look, there are people that have crossed the world on 30 year old scooters, mopeds, and bicycles. I'm nowhere near that level, but it was still a good adventure. A friend is planning a month-long trip to Alaska next summer. Maybe by spring I can convince my wife that another long trip on an old motorcycle is a great idea.

Great story. Once started, I couldn't put the book down. Being one of those overweight relics you refered to earlier I still love a fast bike and can't wait to try a cross country excersion myself. But I plan to do it on a GW. These days 400 miles on a GS can only be done once or twice a month.
Again Great story. I loved every line. Those guys that have to work 8 to 5 are dreaming the dream of a great cross country ride which you have helped in that dream.

Thanks for the kind words, HH. That sure is a nice collection you have. I'm starting a real job in a few days with the usual 2 weeks of vacation, so no cross-country trips on the horizon--at least for a while. (2 weeks would be plenty, but the wife is not into bikes.) I did end up getting a title for my parts bike & building one bike & one engine with the best bits from both. I also bought an AGM battery. :lol:

lol hopefully i will too i just got it and this cheap little bike is more of a moderate priced little bike... oh well i think i have it fixed for this week at least

Good to hear you now have a "real" job, too bad they couldn't start you out with 4 weeks of vacation a year, isn't it? Guess I won't be seeing you at Fenimore Hills this year either? Or will you be able to finagle that weekend off? Sounds like your bike is in better shape than mine is at the moment, I still have to buy new caarb boots, o-rings, etc...and do that nasty job. :)

I'll probably make that. A day off here and there is easier. The machine shop here is slooooooooooow (but good) so I couldn't make it last year. Brown county definitely. My bike still is missing some top-end power & I still have no clue why--I've been over all the easy stuff dozens of times. Gas mileage is way up though.
 
Yes PS, I still have all those bikes and have added a couple. Just went to San Mateo which is South of San Fran Airport and bought a 1993 GoldWing to add to the collection. Rode it home in 2 days with a terrible cold and along the way the side cover blew off. I spent 2 hrs looking but never could find it. I need something thats a little eazier on this ol man then a vibrator. Can't do 400 miles and get up the next day and do it again. Should be lots of good ridin this summer. I have to do it before the body and mind become unfamiliar territory.:pray:

good to have you around. Im from CB originally, just living in bellevue with the Air Force right now.
