DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I put a 4 into 1 exhaust on the 750L over this winter.Well took it out for the first time today and the first bump i hit and smack the exhaust hit the ground.Jeez 250 down the tubes! So i put a gs850 front end on the bike and it sits even lower. It looks good but doesnt fix my problem. So i put the original forks on and road a few miles thinkn it already hit it wont due it again and boom it did on every bump. And now to my question what other gs's have longer forks than a 80 750L?Sorry for the long story guys.

You don't need longer forks, you need better springs in the forks, and probably better shocks in the back.

If you still have the stock suspension components front and rear, that should be the highest priority on your "to do" list for your bike.

Progressive springs in the front and new seals where done last summer.I did add lowering shocks to the ass end but where it hit on the exhaust was right where all 4 join into 1.I am a big guy(240) maybe to heavy for the bike?I got only about 4" under the header Without me on it.3" with me on it.

Did you put a spacer on the front springs?
What is the sag on the bike?
A pic or two of the bike then one with you sitting on it to see the compression factor would behelpful.

Ill snap aome pics 2marrow for ya.I dont recall a spacer in the front forks hmm may have to double check.

Preload meaning make or buy some spacers?Cause i lifted and pulled a tube cap there are no spacers in there just the spring.

You should have the same forks as me and there is a spacer in there. The 80L model actually as longer forks than most GSs. The Germans call it a chopper.

O **** really wonder what happened to mine.I still have the oe springs so ill check them.Huh maybe there in the oil barrel?Ill have to really look in the mornin.A L is a chopper lol thats cool.THanks

PVC spacers should sit on top of the springs with a fender washer between the spacer and spring. Use the largest size that will fit in the tube. When you have the wheel off the ground and fork fully extended take a measurement between the lower triple and the dust seal on the lower leg. Then put the bike on the ground with your weight in the seat. You may want to bounce the bike a little to get the suspension to settle down. Then take another measurement. You want to see about 1 1/4-1 1/2" of sag depending on how stiff you want the front end. You can go as low as 1" of sag if you want to really stiffen things up. You should set the rear shocks up the same way.

Before you do any adjustments, make sure you have the proper amount of oil in the forks.
