A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The other day it felt like the whole world was against me... So fed up with basically everything I decided to take the gs for a trip, leave crying kids and nagging girlfriend behind, clear my head and so on...
So I rode for about half an hour then turned of the road towards the water, sat down on the quay and did NOTHING! just stared at the water, the sunset, the bike... listening to the birds, the water.... complete serenity... I think I sat like that for an hour, was just what I needed to get back on track.
So sometimes you need to get away, doesn't have to be too far away either...

It ususally doesn't take me too long of a ride to get a whole new perspective on things, really unstresses me.

Couldn't have said it better. Too bad many non-riders just don't "get it".

PS
Great story and pics, Spiff.

It doesn't hurt that you live in such a beautiful place! Where I live doesn't look even remotely like that, but I guess at least I can ride pretty much all year 'round.

I guess the only downside to living in Norway would be the Nazi zombies. I saw this documentary called "d?d sno", and...

True enough, but I have heard it said just a little bit differently.

"Don't gor for a ride to clear your head. Clear your head, then go for a ride." :D

Some people need strong meds to keep them sane. I only need 2 wheels and an empty road.

It's always easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

Truth for the soul. Cool to know this universal truth is in any State of Mind, any country.

No cell phone, no rules, just ride far far away.

Know exactly what you mean, sunsets do it for me, used to ride to the top of hill I knew and just sit there all alone and take in the sunset.
Reflection is good for the soul, I find the older I get, the more I do it.

Beautiful part of the world you live in and stunning photographs, thanks for sharing.

Took both bikes out today, first time in a long time due to rain. It was really great to be outside and riding again, I'm good for a week now!

Oh so true..
Rode north Ga all day Sunday. Logged about 300 miles.
Well needed!

beautiful sunsets there musicman, we rarely have those types of skyes here because we're surrounded by mountains.
I'm pretty sure the pics could have been better but my mind was set on getting away, not hauling with me a bunch of camera equipment, but for being cell phone pics I guess they're not that bad :P
