Hi! I just went out to have a look at why my float was overfilling & caused me a small fire a while back, & I can't get the bottom(bowl) off, after removing all 4 screws! It looks like somebody may have had problems w/it due to the way it looks after somebody had beat it w/something pretty extensively! Right where it flushes w/the top of the carb! I can see where they kept hitting w/something. It looks like it's still okay, but I can not get it from the top part of the carb! I've tried to tap it w/the end of a screwdriver & wiggle it, to no avail! I tried a razor blade, & very small knife too! It acts like there's another screw somewhere, because it will not even budge any period! The book says there are only 4 screws, so I guess I've removed them all. Unless somebody has J & B'd it! Then I'm in trouble! Can somebody let me know if I am doing something wrong? I am trying not to dis-mantle all those carbs, to possibly go through them. But putting it off for another reason. I haven't tried making my sync tool yet, & besides, before the fire, I ran so very well, including idling good! Besides the bad petcock I replaced. I still have to re-dip the tank too! I have the acetone & am waiting to send off for the POR-15, due to the last guy that owned this bike, must'a sealed it wrong. 'Cause it is peeling w/the old stuff! I bet that's probably what got stuck in the bowl to start with! So I am trying to see if he bottom of the bowl's dirty. But can not get it off! Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Ron.
