    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

If it were I, I'd slap some used intake cam with used cam caps. As long as the cam will not bind in the caps, if they do sand them down. What do you have to loose but that's just me.

I think there's is or was a 16V 750 motor on ebay for 75 bucks.

My motto is "Drive it like you stole it but don't complain when it breaks." I've spent about a grand on parts for my car in consumable parts in the last 6 months. 8O The bike has been better to me this year than most. I think I've already busted everything that's weak other than the timing chain and cams and ahhh...I'd rather not think about it. hehehe

Cheers, Steve

That's not really bad advice. Keep yourself occupied while waiting for an engine to come your way. Flush the engine to get the chips out. And every now and then a shade tree repair like this will end up lasting.

So, what's an 83 GS750 head go for these days? and What other models will work? I thought I saw on here that the GS700 head would get the job done too?

There was ample warning and it was ignored. End of story.

I explained I wasn't flamin' ya man. But when an engine starts making expensive noises, it's time to stop. If you don't, well, like they say: "You paid your money and you took your chances". I really am sorry for you.

I don't suppose you think people won't laugh their asses off at you when you blow a motor out of nowhere, eh Earl? Real classy stuff.

You are (understandably) upset, but the damage is done  ....time to focus now on finding a quick & cost effective fix.....rest assured most people here will be on the lookout for parts/engine to get you back on the road :) .

Yep, just sacrificed your bike. Mechanical things dont care what ones schedule is. The engine said, "I'm broke", you said, "I dont have time", and the engine said, "see ya".

Isaac, man what'd ya do? I thought we was riding soon. Man, that really sucks.

Hey, don't fret it too much. Not sure of your financial situation, but I've seen heads on E-bay for cheap.

Keep looking and heads up man.

Later.
