I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello,
I started my bike, and then the tach cable started to wiggle around (near where it comes from the engine) and the tachometer needle went crazy for a moment, and then it stopped all together-now it doesnt work at all. WTF happened? How do I fix this?
Thanks!
DG

Take the tach cable off, pull the core out of it then inspect the cable housing for damage/ kinks and the core for breakage.

if it's kinked or broken, replace it and re-route it properly.

Probably the first thing to do is disconnect the cable at both ends and inspect to see if the cable is broken. secondly inspect the cable housing where it mounts to the engine. Is the bolt tight, stripped, any thing loose. might even have to remove it from the engine and inspect the gears inside. Doesnt sound to me like the guage itself broke.I would suspect something in either the gears or the cable... let us know what you find.

Cool, thanks alot Ill check the cable and post it.
I did just change the handlebars, so I was moving the cables around. might have F*** something up their...

well that changes everything!!!!!! Are the handlebars facing the front or the back!!! LMAO Good luck and let us know.

Had the same thing happen to me too. The small connector piece on the engine side of the cable snapped off of the cable. Easy $12 replacement at the stealership.

same thing happened to me doing plug chops at hi-rpms. took off from stop and the tach went through the roof and died. the tip broke off the cable at the engine fixture.gonna hafta to root through the salvage yard. in the meantime, i ordered the seals for that engine connector
