    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The Story Of How I Found This Site

Well as you all know are beloved bikes are know as GS and some are even referred to as GSR. GSR is actually how I found this site, because as maybe a few of you may know. The US Army had a MOS(job) within the Army called 96R, no longer exsists, also know as GSR (Ground Surveillance Radar) basically a scout but in military intelligence.

One day I was searching the net for GSR websites, of some friends that I may have served with in the past. I came across this site and clicked on it, and just because I was bored and just happened to own a 1983 GS850L I started to read through the site and liked it.

Just thought that some of you may be interested in this story. I don't know how long the term GSR has been used for some Suzuki motorcycles. But my old job was formed around the Vietnam era. Thanks for a great site from a GSR who owns a GS.

Yes, more interesting than how I came across the forum also. A friend recommended the site some years ago by saying it had a bunch of nuts willing to talk about anything and everything, including the GS Suzuki now and then. So I visited this site and never left.:-D

I found out about military gsr by searching for suzuki terms!!
 
Yeah, I really liked my job as a GSR. It was a job skill with very few members in it, so we are very proud and quite cocky. For instance when I joined and finished training there were around 450 Army wide in my job. When I left a little over 100. The neatest part was that I happened to own a GS when I found this site. I actually planned to learn how to ride on the bike, then buy a newer bike (like the Boulevard Midnight). Now I just planned to keep the bike thanks to this site and liking the bike.
 
Jason, cool to hear about small MOS's. I was a 88T, railroad track maintainer(about 60 in the Army, all reserves now) I think the smallest MOS group i saw was light boat operators. Couldn't find the MOS #, but met one who told me there were only about 20 in the Army.
 
Glad you found the site Jason, how about that for a convergance of circumstances.

Word of warning but, you will find nothing but the nicest, all round helpful people here, but the place is a bit like the "hotel California", you may check out any time you like, but you may never leave.
