A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

VM carbs (dipped w/seals) points/condensors (static timed perfect). runs mint other than.....base idle at a stop/light as soon as you crack throttle it'll die unless you feather it ever so slightly or just rev it and kinda ride the clutch off launch, which blows!
1.5 out on pilot air (side of carb) is about the lowest-in I can go before idle really fumbles a bit.
I believe I now have the pilot fuel at 1.75 out? Maybe I'll try 2 out again
Am I missin anything?
My stupid old sun T-light I have hooked to a battery on floor but trigger/flash is intermittent (gee that's a surprise:rolleyes:) seems though esp.at higher rpm the F mark jumps a bit-pita? Manual says check advance but it sure "looks" great to me.....It's tough chasing such a fine-tune!

1.75 on the fuel screw is double what it should be. Where did you get this setting from?

Plus - stock airbox,exhaust?

Pods? Header?

Jet sizes?

Your post lacks a lot of critical information

Depending on whether you have stock airbox vs pods, or stock exhaust vx header, your pilot fuel screw (the one on the bottom) should be about 3/4 to 1 turn out, and the pilot air screw (the one on the side) should be about double that. This is a decent starting point, fine tuning will go from there.

yea I was told that before and did try it but it seemed bad? I then tried the 2 out fuel and less than 2 on air and it seemed better? I'm messin with it now, I'll try 1.0 from seated. I took the stock air box off to better manipulate removing/reinstalling #3 carb screw. Oh stock exhaust too, everything totally stock and well cared for too.

you mentioned you removed the airbox.. did you install back in or have you left it out?? if you're trying to adjust carbs with airbox off then you're wasting your time.. It wont run right without the airbox..

air box on..Well I think without actually driving it, the response likes the 3/4 out better & pilot air at 1.5-1.75....sooo Thanks Nessism and Steve:D You guys hit the mark!
It's drizzlin & rainin worse so indoors I go. Oh yea, looks like my homemade bowl gaskets I was so proud of are actually weeping/leaking gas so I'll have to renew those(3) I did carb 1 when I bought a kit for the screw that broke & the float needle I lost:o I noticed the kit gasket was black and more importantly twice as thick as the material I used. Gonna rain for a week so I got time...but eager to try real world new adjustments for sure!:D

revving it up in your garage is nothing like riding it under load on the street

that is why puting it under a load in the garage while tuning is so much fun,a lil smokey tho hehe, but the sound os ooooh so good

A good starting point for you mixture screws is the stock one...5/8 out for your fuel and double that for your air. You can fine tune your air mixture with the fastest idle method.
