A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My 82 g450 is rated for 110/90 17's on the back and 19's on the front. I like the old school look of the coker tires or the continetal look as I will be shooting for a cafe build. The rear one is hard to find in that size for the look I want. Anyone have any suggetstions? Thanks?:-s

I haven't really got an answer for the look you want, but don't go wider than the 110 as I've seen a few posts on here that indicate a 120 may cause clearance issues.

If you like the older looking stuff have you considered dual sport tyres instead? Shinko 244's come to mind as well as Pirelli Scorpions... I have Scorpions on my "scrambler".

I found the same IRC tire.....why is it so difficult to find a 17" tire with that width? I know anything above 110 will rub the rear torque link. If I go to a 110/90 18" tire will that work? I wonder......

Sorry, but NO. It's a 17' rim. An 18' tire wont work. Your other option is to go smaller width at 100/90 but that only gives one more tire option and you will lose contact patch size. I guess it depends on what kind of budget you have in mind and how badly you want that look. I don't know about the t model dimensions but I think you could put an 18' rim back there, you would have to buy a new rim and spoke set and lace it up. Or go with the 18' mags from the e/s models but I don' t know about break fit with your bike on those wheels. You could mod the torque link to give yourself room. Consider this though, no one will see what you have on as you roll by......

You could switch to a 16" off an L. I have a 130/90 on the back of mine with no clearance issues.

Americanmototire.com has my rear tire by IRC for $77 with free shipping! Looks like this is the best way to go since I don't feel like cutting and pasting the rear torque link on my bike right now. Really the only thing it is responsible for is to keep the brake drum from spinning around right?
