DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

To much twist

Ok I've been down the drag strip almost 100 times sence May 03 and the one thing I hate the most about my 82 1100E is the amount of twist it takes to open the throttle all the way up. So the other day I found a 1 inch dia. PVC pipe laying around and said this might just work. So I cut off a piece just over 1/4 an inch thick and cut a piece off the side so it now looks like the letter C. Open up the throttle assy and removed the throttle cable then I used a little double side sticky tape and installed the PVC letter C around the throttle area that the throttle cable would ride on. Installed the throttle cable back over the PVC letter C. Check for no binding issues and re-assemble the throttle assy back on the handle bars. Now I have WOT at less than 1/4 of a turn. Before I had to twist the throttle way past 1/4 of a turn. If I like this setting I'll go back and glue it on for good. Should allow me to bring the RPM's up a little faster at the track. Cost maybe 50 cents and 30 mins of my time.

That's my story and I'am sticking to it.

I have had the same problem, but just learned to live with it. I usually rotate my hand forward further on the grip to compensate for it......

What`s the fastest run you have done, Jake ??

KnutK

I've only run on 1/8 mile so far; ET 7.48, MPH 93.83 and 60FT was 1.81.

I've installed struts on the rear and strap the front end down too. Advanced the ignition 5 degrees and lower the needle in the carbs to lean it out alittle. I'm hoping these's mods get me into 7.30's ET's and into 1.70's on those 60 Footers next week.

Do you ride your bike on the street as well? I've been thinking about doing the same thing to my throttle, but am concerned that it will make driving a steady speed kind of hard.

I have'nt had it on the strip yet, but i did go down a side street last weekend and like the response of the engine. The nice thing about it is if I don't like it I can remove the PVC in ten seconds.
