A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Can someone please measure their turn signal lens from any of these models.
Suzuki...76-78GS500 TITAN....77-80 GS550/E.....80-82 GS550L....81 GS550T....77GT550....81-82 GS650GL....80-81 GS750L....82 GS750T.....80-81 GS850GL...80 GS1000GL...80 GS1100L.
I bought a pair off Ebay and they are huge. I replaced my stock signals with aftermarket but if I remember correctly they were the same size as the stock signals. The huge signals measure 3 5/8 accross and 1 3/8 thick. These are the round version. The signals I have intalled are considerably smaller.
Thanks

Chef, I have the ones from an 81 650L. They are approx 3 1/4" wide. I think most of the early 750/1000 models had the bigger "popsicle" type signals.

Can't help you with exact measurements, but I can tell you that larger bikes had larger signals.

Four years ago, on the first long trip with my wife's '82 850L, we lost a rear signal somewhere in Oklahoma. My guess is that we hit some bad bumps in the road and the luggage rack, which is supported by the turn signal mounting bolts, bounced real hard and sheared the signal mounts. We found a junk err ... recycling facility in Colorado. They had lenses that would have fit, but we needed the complete light and the mount. The only one they had came off a 1000, but I don't remember noticing the year. It was about 1/2 inch larger, but it worked. When we got home and I had the luxury of time, I got some 'new' signals off eBay.

.

The turn signal lenses on my '81 GS750L are approx. three (3") in diameter and seven eighths (7/8") in thickness.

I'm pretty confident that they're stock. Here's a couple pics...
