If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi all!
About my oil leak issues, I'm about to make my valve guides brand new ones.
I have an issue now, when giving the head to the guy he will do it:

1) I ordered OEM valve guides from Suzuki: When I received them, they are identical, for intake and exhaust. Is it normal?

2) The most important question: I measured on the new valve guides.. an external diameter (to fit them in the head) which is: 12.40mm

BUT this is not an OEM size, the valve guides are delivered oversized to prevent any damage on the head. I do not have the guides anymore, so could someone say me what is the OEM diameter of the guides / or the hole in the head, as standard? I think this is around 12.15 / 12.20mm, but I do not have the precise value..

Thanks a lot, in advance, for those who could answer me as soon as possible because the head is in the "guy" hands....

Best regards!
Boris

Suzuki replacement guides are oversize. You need to purchase the appropriate reamer as detailed in the factory service manual. The reason they do that is because some times head material is removed when driving the old guide out and Suzuki wants you to start with a fresh hole.

I don't know what's different between the intake and exhaust guides. I do know that aftermarket guides are the same for both intake and exhaust. APE guides have a good reputation. They don't require reaming the head either but you need to be careful when removing the old guides though.

ok thanks!
I already received the oversized guides... maybe, next time I won't do this, maybe buy APE guides which are not oversized. The head is currently with the machinist, so I'll get it back next week. So, have to wait a little more, to be able to ride it again.... 100km in one year...
