A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I need to know if a valve cover gasket from a 80-81 gs750 will fit on my 83 gs750 es? I have one avalible and i dont feel like going to the dealer for another one...

I don't have experience with the 750 of these years, but I looked on www.alpha-sports.com for you and the gaskets for the 80-81 750 are NOT the same part number as the gasket for the 83 750ES. Also, if you look at the parts breakdown for each bike on there you can see that the gaskets look different too. The 83 ES gasket looks like it has the "half moon" end plugs built into the gasket. Take a look for yourself with the link above. Good luck.

It should be a perfect match.

 Did you check the parts breakdowns? The pictures look totally diferent. Was my advice wrong? I'd like to know how it turns out...

No your advice was absolutley right. I physically compared the two and they are very similar but also very different. Like you stated the half moon plugs are missing on the 80-81 gasket and they also have a different bend on the inner most part of the gasket where the 83 gasket is straight. I suppose you could make it fit but it isnt worth the hassle. I am going to stick with the proper gasket. Thank you for your help. I need to find a helicoil to fix a stripped bolt hole before I do anythinh though. Anybody know what size kit I might need for the front right bolt on the valve cover gasket? it is on carb #4 side

I know in 83, Suzuki resized the lower cases, but I didnt realize they changed the valvecover. Sorry about that.
