A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi folks!
I've just about completed a restoration of my 1982 GS1100GK. If faithfully restored to manufacturers style, including decals, I have the option for special rates on insurance, etc. The one piece missing is the 'Windshield Warning' decal from the top of the fuel tank. If someone could post a photo of this decal, or the wording, I'd appreciate it immensely.

David

Any of these work?...

Or this one...sorry about the quality...It's 11pm here.
If you need better, I can try tomorrow. Let me know if you are looking for placement or wording.

Thanks! I also need dimensions of the decal.

If I see it correctly, the wording is:
- Keep windshield clean at all times.
- Clean only with a soft cloth and warm water with a mild detergent.
- Minor scratches may be removed by polishing with a commercially available plastic polish.
- Never use a polish containing abrasive or polishing compound, as it may cause permanent scratches.
- Replace windshield if it becomes scratched or discolored so as to obstruct view.
- When replacing windshield, use Suzuki replacement windshield.

Based on the photo, the dimensions (if you can send them when you get a chance) and the wording, I should be able to reproduce the decal. Thanks IMMENSELY!

Did not know that there was a Concours competition somewhere. :-k

Can't imagine any other reason why I would want to put a decal on the bike that I would have removed before my new bike left the dealer's property.

I know the Safety Weenies on Capitol Hill say they have to be there when the bike was sold (new), but I don't think there was any requirement to keep them there.

Here in British Columbia, you get an immense break on insurance costs for Concours quality vehicles over 25 years old. Creating the decal is a small price to pay to get this discount!

Here's a piece of advice from a collector plate holder, they aren't to worried about little stuff like that.So long as it looks to be in good shape you can get a C plate. If you're worrying about that decal your bikes passed better than that most likely.

My 78 1000 is no where near concourse condition with a European colour scheme not available in this part of the world and I got one.I'd like to know who told you that was the standard needed? If you want that decal go for it.

Thanks, SVSooke. I was going by the info on the ICBC Application.
