A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Were are the pilot air jets?

CV carbs have the pilot jets internally right next to the needle jet under a rubber cap and they arent adjustable like VMs , so theres no external screw. All you get on a CV is the mixture adjustment which is on the top back section of the carb throat.

Well, Chuck, that is certainly true for the pilot FUEL jets, but he was sepecifically asking about the pilot AIR jets, which are supposed to be in the intake throat, at about the 8 o'clock position.
The picture in the link does not show them, which is why he was asking.

Mike, if you are not the current winning bidder, good, those are not the proper carbs.
If you are the current winning bidder, you had better hope that someone else thinks they want them more than you do.

.

Didnt see "air" Steve..my apologies. Yeah at the lower left area.

EDIT...Went back and looked at the Ebay pics and i can see now why he asked the question..

Yeah I do..should be an air jet that screws in at 8 like you said..whats your best guess..Kaw or Yammy carbs? The air jet is clearly ssen in the fiches as part 68.

dang...I'm the current winning bidder....I hope someone outbids me....maybe I'll email the guy and let him know he's posting the wrong carbs....Thanks....they looked a little diffrent after i looked closer....the drain plugs are not on the bottom also

Since it is less than 12 hours left and more than 1 hour since your bid...You need to contact the seller to cancel your bid.

thanks for the help...I sent him a message....lets hope he's a nice guy!

They would be close. Yes, the basic body is the same, but the throttle shaft between 2 and 3 is longer on the 850. It is possible to change, but is a royal pain, because the little screws that hold the throttle butterflies to the shaft are swedged into place so they won't come out.

Not only do you have to remove those bolts twice (once from each set of carbs), but then you have to do something to anchor one set in the carbs that are going on your bike.

Other parts, like the fuel T, "choke" linkage, etc., you can move over to the "new" carbs rather easily, the throttle linkage is a bit harder.

Just cancel your bid. You dont need to talk to the seller about it.

ok...thanks Steve...I'll keep looking...

and I couldnt find where to cancel my bid...but the guy messaged me back and is'nt going to make me buy them....he found out they are for a kawasaki gpz550

Good news. :D

Don't delete that message that says he is not going to make you buy them, and why.

I couldn't tell exactly what they were from, only that it wasn't a GS.
