    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What is this hose and where doe it go???

Hi all, If y'all have read my previous posts y'all knwo about my position. In brief, I laid my bike down and now # 3 and 4 carbs are flooding. I have a broken ankle and take in in to the shop yet. I've been "tinkering" with my bike, well more like fidling and trying to see if there is anything obvious that would make my bike mess up. I took out my battery and noticed this black hose that ran into the #2? carb that wasnt attached to anything at the other end. My question is, where is this supose to go? I havne't taken off the gas tank because Ive never done that before to look and see if it was to go up there, so before I do that, I wanted to check and see if y'all knew. Thanks!
 
I'm thinking that's your fuel line while the other is your vacuum. But have you looked on Basscliff's site yet? He has a document there showing where everything goes.
 
That's the overflow hose.
One side doesn't connect to anything.

It's between carb 1 and 2 right?

It merely runs over the Air box.

On a seperate note.....

Your fuel line is between carb 2 and 3.
Your vacuum line connects to the front area between carb 1 and 2 I believe.

Overflow comes out the ends of the carbs (usually into the cylinders). This hose is a vent. Route it behind the airbox so it's out of the wind. Otherwise, cross-winds will play havoc with the air pressure in your carbs, making the bike surge in a rather annoying fashion.
